GRANT MAKING GUIDELINES OCTOBER 2015

What areas does CCT support?

We concentrate new grants in two areas:
  • Activity, health and well-being, including research
  • Culture, the natural environment and heritage
  • We also make grants for care, the community and counselling. Map showing counties meeting guidelines

    What does CCT not support?

  • Local branches of national charities
  • Overseas charities
  • Animal welfare organisations
  • Sports tours
  • Research expeditions
  • Sponsored adventure holidays
  • Applications for individuals
  • Are there geographical restrictions?

We mainly support national charities but also support local charities if their beneficiaries or activities are located in North Wales, London or South East England (specifically, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire).

    Who can benefit?

Any recognised charity meeting these guidelines can benefit but we give special consideration to those of personal interest to the late settlor or to the current trustees.
Most of our grants are made for 1,000 or 2,000.

    How do you apply?

Please write to us at 62 Wilson St, London EC2A 2BU.
It is helpful to us if your application begins with a short paragraph giving a succinct summary of your project.

The trustees meet twice a year, in March and September. Applications received before the beginning of those months will be considered at the relevant meeting.

How will you hear about your application?

We receive a great many applications and regret that we cannot acknowledge receipt. Please regard the absence of any communication for six months as an indication that we have considered the application but it has been unsuccessful. Lists of grants made are posted on our website chapmancharitabletrust.org.uk
